Living organisms constantly confront external stresses and threats that test their ability to survive and reproduce. The alterations humans have made to our planet have profoundly affected numerous species, leading to extinctions on such a massive scale that many scientists now consider it a mass extinction event, possibly the sixth in the history of the Earth.
Unlike natural threats, human made dangers such as habitat destruction and fragmentation, over-exploitation of resources, environmental pollution contributing to climate change, the introduction of invasive species, poaching, and more are posing to biodiversity. By scrutinizing the detrimental effects of human activities on the planet’s biodiversity, we can take measures to undo past harm and prevent further damage.
As a result, the Board has extended support to various schools and institutions to organize educational tours known as “Bio-Tours” for normal and especially abled school students. These tours aim to help students identify local plants, animals, and other organisms in their natural habitats, fostering environmental awareness and sensitivity. Additionally, they provide insight into these organisms’ environmental needs, encouraging students to value and actively participate in the improvement and protection of the environment and biodiversity, ultimately bene iting their own livelihoods.
